Free Eye camp in Sargodha Pakistan

UK Islamic Mission and Prevention of Blindness (POB Pakistan) organized a free eye camp in Sargodha, Pakistan on 13, 14, 15 December 2011.
Another free eye camp for the destitute people in the suburb of Sargodha, Pakistan was held by the UK Islamic Mission and Prevention of Blindness (POB Pakistan) on 13, 14, 15 December 2011. This camp has been sponsored by the UKIM Manchester South branch (Madina Masjid Levenshulme).
During this three day camp, 1575 patients were examined in OPD and then 213 patients were selected for the cataract surgeries with Intra ocular Lens Implantations.
Three ophthalmologists (Eye Surgeons) offered their services for this eye camp voluntarily. All the patients were provided the following facilities free of cost in order to save their eyesight and prevent the blindness.
- General Eye Examination
- Treatment of common eye problems
- OPD medicines
- Screening of cataract patients
- Lab investigations for the selected patients
- Biometry
- Pre operative, operative & post operative medicines
- Sun glasses
- Follow up visits
A large number of local people visited the camps for eye treatment.
Mr. Noor Alam and Mr. Bashir Hussain, both aged 85, were the oldest who gone through the surgery while Ms. Salma Bibi was the youngest patient just 35 years old.
These free eye camps aimed to reduce visual impairment among rural areas needy peoples.
