Fatwa # 23 Friday, May 15, 2009
In our city there Arab Druze restaurants. We heard about these people, whether we are allowed to eat from their food, noting that they dont slaughter the animal that provides the meat themselves, rath
The Druze are a group which reverted from Islam and are thus governed by the regulations of the polytheists (Mushriks). All scholars agreed that Muslims are neither to marry from them nor to eat from their meat. Therefore, it is unlawful to eat from the meat which they slaughter. However, if they sell meat which was slaughtered by a Muslim then it is Halal. In addition, all food which does not require to be slaughtered is also Halal, whether it is from the Druze or any other.
