As per the World Health Organisation (WHO), 264 million children around the world are not in school. This is a staggering statistic, especially when you consider how easily so many of us take our own access to education for granted.
These children are ready and eager to learn, but many have no school in their village. This means that they are faced with the option of walking for hours and arriving at school exhausted from the long and unsafe walk or simply not attending at all. Either way, children are unable to fully benefit from education.
UK Islamic Mission transforms existing local buildings into schools so that children in rural areas can easily go to school and improve their lives with the gift of learning. You can help to make learning more enjoyable, comfortable and accessible for children.

Zakat can be given to build a school and this will be a valuable act of Sadaqah Jariyah. After all, every child who receives an education from the school you helped to fund will go on to lead a more fulfilled life, passing on the wisdom they have learned to others as they grow older.
