Exploring Sadaqah: Acts of Kindness

In Islam, Sadaqah is a special way of showing kindness and helping others, and there are many ways to do it! While Muslims aren’t required to give Sadaqah, it’s a wonderful way to make a positive difference without expecting anything back.

What Is Sadaqah?

Sadaqah means doing something good for someone else out of the goodness of your heart. There are countless ways to give Sadaqah, and it can be anything that helps others. Here are some examples:

  • Sharing food with others
  • Praying for someone
  • Being kind to animals
  • Helping someone who needs protection
  • Visiting and caring for people who are unwell
  • Giving directions to someone who is lost
  • Smiling at others
  • Offering support to those in need
  • Donating to those who could use some help

What About Sadaqah Jariyah?

Sadaqah Jariyah is a special type of Sadaqah that helps others in a way that continues to benefit them for a long time. Here are some ideas:

  • Teaching someone a helpful skill
