Many Muslim believers in Bangladesh have been left without a place of peace and worship due to limited resources. We here at UK Islamic Mission have launched a Build a Mosque in Bangladesh project to help form a sacred space for people to connect with Allah and come together in unity to learn and share knowledge about Islam.
Mosques are a place where we pray our daily prayers, gather together for the Jummah congregational prayer, and teach our children about the Quran and Sunnah. It is a sanctuary where Muslims gather at times of joy, such as for the Eid prayer or for a Nikah ceremony, and at times of hardship for a Janazah when someone passes away.
Allah tells us in the Quran that “The Masjids of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer and give zakah, and fear none but Allah…”[Quran 9:18]. A mosque built in rural areas in Bangladesh can become a space of unity and spiritual growth.
The cost of building a Mosque in Bangladesh entirely depends on its size and location. Constructing a mosque in most rural areas may cost much less than in the cities. Your contribution will help cover the cost of materials, labour and features such as ablution areas, all of which will be designed for comfort and dignity to the person standing in prayer.
